Of incomplete words and dreams in-progress
there was this one techie/gadget show i watched that featured the "ultimate gadget". that caught my attention. it turns out that the ultimate gadget was a video player system that incorporated all the current data storage technology (at the time), high end television models, and the concept of record+play+pause+fforward+rewind. i wanted that. i knew then that of all the things that i ever wanted, THAT was first on the list. the obvious fact is that i couldn't afford it - then and now. BUT now looking back, I NOW HAVE IT, in a way. bit by bit I have acquired the components of the ultimate gadget without actually planning to do so. seemingly arbitrary decisions to spend on a PC, an internet connection, and other computer peripherals have culminated into that which I coveted so much. well, not yet. i still need a new house for it to fit the dream.
speaking of incomplete stuff, the only incomplete word i know is the word "freedom". from all instances that i have heard or read the word "freedom" used to describe one's aspiration or state of being the meaning was vague. if ever an explanation was provided, it didn't really make sense in terms that it didn't fit well to how the word was used and the situation wherein it was used. this has been the case except when it used as "freedom from", then it was clear. And then there were questions still but the questions act as developments on the idea itself - not attempts to clear what "freedom" meant.
